Thank you to our wonderful co-hosts this month: Joylene Nowell Butler, Jemima Pett, Patricia Josephine, Louise – Fundy Blue, and Kim Lajevardi!
April 6 question – Have any of your books been made into audio books? If so, what is the main challenge in producing an audiobook?
I wrote an earlier IWSG post on this very topic: Ten Steps to Create an Audiobook.
I LOVE audiobooks! It’s the only way I read these days. I just finished reviewing the audiobook for Alice Feeney’s Rock, Paper, Scissors.
The biggest challenge in creating my own audiobook for my 2021 release, sports romance Rivals, was the expense. I paid two narrators and an editor to pull both parts together. But the fun experience made it all worth it.
If I write another novel one day, I hope to create an audiobook version.
Glad the experience of creating an audiobook was a good one, even if it was expensive. I like audio books too, but mostly read print books.

It is wonderful that you liked the experience of producing the audio book. It is obviously your thing, if you enjoy listening to them.

Hiring professionals to do something like producing an audiobook seems well worth the expense, Jennifer. If the time for making an audiobook comes for me, I’ll hire professionals if I can. I know when I’m in over my head. Happy creating in April!

Hi, Louise! Sorry I can’t comment on your blog, but I love the idea of recording children’s stories on audio. I can imagine they love it.. Oahu photos looked amazing! I’ve been there twice. ❤

I’d like to have an audiobook made, since people have asked for it, but I haven’t taken that leap yet, mainly because of the expense. It’s great that yours came out so well!

It is some major bank to publish an audiobook, Lori, but a lot of fun. Thank you!
